MassChallenge, a ‘not for profit’ organization with a focus on helping start-ups win without taking equity, partnered with Blue Water for a website refresh and ‘replatform’ to the Drupal content management system (CMS). With locations spread across the globe, and the unique situation of three primary audiences, Blue Water needed to solve several Information Architecture (IA) challenges.
To satisfy the challenge of diverse audiences over multiple locations, Blue Water built out journey maps to inform a site redesign that allows for several entry points into the user experience. A self-selector functionality permits audiences to choose by geographic location or audience, be it start-up, partner or investor. In addition, a new IA allows users to traverse the different verticals of the site (start-up, partner, investor) with ease, ensuring a necessary level of informational cross-pollination.
MassChallenge continues to accelerate start-ups, over 1,000 to date, and has raised over 1.8 billion in funding, generating more than $700 million in revenue, and creating 60,000 direct and indirect jobs. The new Blue Water-designed and developed website plays a major role in continuing this remarkable achievement.
