Derek is a lifelong resident of Anne Arundel County and was raised in Pasadena. After graduating Chesapeake High School, Derek enrolled at North Carolina State University. Derek’s political aspirations really developed after he graduated and began working in Governor Ehrlich’s office in Annapolis, MD. He then acted as Steve Schuh’s campaign manager in his successful bid for the State Delegate. Derek is currently a small business owner in Anne Arundel County and spends his free time volunteering and sitting on the board of two non-profit organizations.
