The Association of Old Crows (AOC) Takes Flight with its Redesigned Website
With the assistance of web design firm, Blue Water Media, the Association of Old Crows (AOC) launches a redesigned website to advocate Electronic Warfare and Information Operations.
Washington, DC – (January 29, 2010) The Association of Old Crows (AOC), a not-for-profit organization which promotes the fields of Electronic Warfare and Information Operations, recently launched a redesigned website to bring its advocacy work to life. The AOC’s network of over 13,500 members has worked collaboratively to increase the awareness and importance of Electronic Warfare and Information Operations. AOC’s new website provides a new platform for it to communicate its message to users around the world.
The redesigned website provides an uncluttered yet extremely functional interface for users to discover the benefits of AOC. When logging onto the website the user is immediately drawn to the opening three images with corresponding links to events, advocacy and publications, and community. Immediately above these images lies the main toolbar with links to: home, about, events, advocacy and publications, community, IO institute, AEF, membership, and contact. Each of these links leads to additional menus detailing another one of the AOC’s areas of expertise. Another eye catching graphic on the homepage directs users to AOC’s 40th Annual Electronic Symposium, where its members will convene to discuss the latest news concerning Electronic Warfare and Information Operations.
One of the website’s most useful tools is Joomla, an award winning content management system. Joomla enables AOC to update and build its website over an extremely user friendly interface. This allows AOC to keep its members abreast of the latest industry news and initiatives through pages such as the calendar and courses pages.
Blue Water Media designed the website to highlight AOC’s rich heritage. Images of AOC’s trademark crow permeate the website and can be seen in a variety of locations including the address bar and the AOC store link. In developing the site, Blue Water Media wanted to create a visually attractive and informative website. To achieve this mission, Blue Water Media placed AOC’s plethora of information behind a number of eye catching and informative links.
