The Brief
World Bank Live is the World Bank's digital platform for live-streaming and engaging with global audiences about international development. The organization produces, streams and promotes high-level online events during certain periods of the year. Over 400 events have been livestreamed on the platform in languages including Spanish, French, and Arabic.
To meet the digital demands of an increasingly technologically savvy audience, World Bank Live briefed Blue Water to explore a site redesign smart enough to play host to panel discussions, roundtables, speeches from the president, hangouts, live chats, expert Q&A sessions, and more.
The Solution
In collaboration, the creative and technological teams at Blue Water designed a simple, easy-to-use microsite permitting online audiences to engage with content through live blogs and interact with panellists and online experts via polling, chatting and submitting questions or comments in real time.
In addition, the new site design and platform allows for audiences to interact with the site during periods when there are no current events on the calendar.
The Outcome
The newly designed, developed and recently-launched microsite serves both the goals and needs of the World Bank plus the various global audiences that work with the World Bank to, in the words of organization, “end extreme poverty and promote shared prosperity in a sustainable way.”
